Danielle Emmett

Meet Danielle

I'm Danielle, I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) who is deeply passionate about providing every pet with the best possible experience, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing at all times.

Since retraining in 2015 to become an RVN, I have worked hard, gaining professional experience in a variety of roles within veterinary practice from Receptionist and Patient Care Assistant, to Student Veterinary Nurse, qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, to Advanced Nursing Manager-(PCA) lead & Clinical Coach then on to Practice Manager, and now small business owner of IW County Vet Nurse and Locum RVN.

I have worked in first opinion general practice, busy 24 hour hospitals and referral. Each role and practice has shaped the skills, knowledge and compassion I bring to my patients and clients today.

As a registered veterinary nurse, I feel very strongly about providing every patient with the best possible experience, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing at all times. I believe that each animal is an individual with their own personality, needs, and preferences, and I take these into account when deciding on the most appropriate care.

I am always considering new and creative ways to monitor vital signs as accurately as possible, focusing on keeping patients calm and fear-free so that I gather reliable data. By doing so, I can provide the veterinary surgeon with the most reliable information, enabling them to make the best clinical decisions for the animals under their care.

Above all, I strive to advocate for each patient's best interests, ensuring their voice and wellbeing are at the heart of every decision made. In practice I particularly enjoy involvement in multi-modal diagnostic imaging, but the most rewarding part of nursing is creating tailored care plans for unwell patients and implementing hands-on nursing care that supports their recovery.

There's no better feeling than seeing a patient return home sooner, healthier, and happier because of the care our team provided. My goal has always been to deliver the highest standard of patient care, ensuring the very best outcomes for both pets and their families.

I am currently working toward Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Champion Silver status, and I am furthering my FdSc in Veterinary Nursing Science with Nottingham Trent University.

This further study is deepening my knowledge in areas such as emergency and critical care, advanced pain management, and global veterinary medicine. I have 3 dogs and a horse of my own, who keep me busy and remind me daily why I love this profession.
